After a relatively productive day at work it was back on Via 95 bound for home.
I got back home only to repeat it all again tomorrow.
In Hamiton I stopped at Aberdeen yard to see what train 230's parked power was.
After that it was game time. After the game I swung past Kinnear yard to see what might be sitting there.
Then it was on to Binbrook for supper.
NS 328 was meeting CN 422 at Clifton. I figured it was a good time to make my way to Fort Erie where I could see 328 again.
After 257 I headed for home via Welland where I caught it again.
Sadly I continued on to work.
During lunch today I purchased season six of "The Simpsons" on DVD. I popped disc one into my laptop on the train for the ride home.
Ta da!!! Home again.
I decided to venture over to Cresson again and caught up with the rear helper set again.
At that point I decided it was time to start back home.
Just after photographing the switcher I heard the Buffalo & Pittsburgh dispatcher give a clearance to engine 460 north from Johnsonburg to Salamanca. I drove out ahead to photograph it but got confused and went the wrong way. Doh!!! I resumed my trek but wound up so far ahead that it would be dark before it caught up to me. I could have gone back I suppose, but I hoped to find other targets to photograph.
It was rather dark when I photographed Buffalo & Pittsburgh 203 so I pretty much headed home from there. The one stop I did make was in Angola, NY to record the CSX detector there.
Well it got very dark for that last train but several more were on the way.
It's amazing how busy a railroad can get after dark. However, I can't complain. It's been a pretty decent day.
It was Friday and I was going home! Not only that but when I got there I was driving to Altoona, Pennsylvania for the weekend.
Then it was home briefly to grab my supplies and I was off to Altoona.
After a day's work it was time to take the train back home. It was time to relax.
Once again I was home and the workday behind me. That's always a good feeling.
I was wondering why there were way more people beside the tracks in Paris than normal. When I drove past the Paris fair grounds I realized why. The Paris train show was this weekend. I'd totally forgotten about it. I then moved on to Princeton.
CN train 394 was to lift cars in Paris Junction but was unable to receive the paperwork. They ran light power to Brantford to get their paperwork there and then light power back.
I decided to head over to Eatonia for a change of scenery.
I was getting tired so I began my trek home. I stopped by Great Western Model Trains in Brantford first where I purchased three CP Difco dump cars. All in all it was a good day.
A relief crew was just boarding 339 when I got to Fort Erie.
The snow was getting worse in Fort Erie and the photos were getting ugly so I gave up and returned home. I'd try again the next day.
The NI dispatcher stopped NS 328 as it passed me because of a track problem at mile 5.85 on the north track. A foreman was sent over to inspect the track before any trains were to pass. After a while a foreman cleared 328 over the problem with a 25 mph speed restriction.
By then I'd done all the work I could trackside so I returned home.I saw a couple trains on the way to Toronto but they flew past too quickly to see what they were.
Once the daily work obligations were fulfilled I walked back to Union Station to catch train 95.
While passing through Hamilton yard I noticed RaiLink 1756 and 1756 in the shop.
I noticed that our train had become #42 east.
I managed to put the finishing touches on a Perl program for the client today. I was quite tired though and ready to go home.
RaiLink 1756 was no longer in the shop in Hamilton. It was parked out front.
And before I knew it I was home on a wet, miserable evening only to do it all over tomorrow.
I guess the "Northlander" had some problems yesterday since the ONR threw an SD40-2 on the train.
On the way through Mimico I noticed Via 6424 with its Budweiser Superbowl paint under the fuel rack.
After the world's most exciting work day (I did get a haircut) it was back on Via for the ride home.
Via's record is improving. We were more or less on time. Time for home.
I have more than enough photography from Merritton and decided to go Jordan Station. I walked out onto the old bridge pier at the harbour for Via 97.
Today I headed into New York with friends to see what was happening on CSX. On our way to the border we heard CN trains 331 and 339 meet at Robbins. That's not what we're looking for though.
We headed into the town of Angola for lunch. While there only one train went through.
Then back to Sturgeon Point Road.
Well we were a bit late, but not too bad. So I was off to work.
For the trip home we departed Toronto on time but lost a bit of time along the way.
Trillium lifted the existing car and took it back to the yard to exchange it for the car to be delivered. I figured I'd have time for take-out before he'd be back.
Two CN eastbounds were on the way so I went back to Merritton.
It was getting rather dark so I called it a day. However, to try out my new GPS I went to St. Catharines station later in the evening.
That was fun. This would be my train for the next morning.
Then I hit the Toronto underground for the walk to work.
It was a tough day today because I was very tired and not feeling particularly well. I was happy to be on the train home. I was even happier that it was on time.
I was quite anxious to get home for food and relaxation.
While stopped at Grimsby an eastbound CN freight blew past. I have no idea which train it was.
Once again I was off to work.
After the typical bag of giggles it was back on train 95 to go home.It was a pretty flawless ride tonight; I'm impressed. After the train I headed for food.
I heard that NS train 327 was coming and I felt like a change of scenery so I drove to Beamsville. Without warning NS 328 showed up. I only managed a going away shot but it was light power.
I was getting rather tired of the rain so I called it quits and returned home.
